Since the V SEVEN forward assist is made from aluminum and not steel, you reduce the weight of any part by a substantial amount. The ultra-light assist weighs in at 9.2 grams, roughly 55% lighter than mil-spec. This forward assist is type III hardcoat anodized, which is the same treatment most commonly used on AR styles of receivers and has a deep black finish. This treatment has been proven to be extremely tough and durable.
