The SLR DPMS/SR25 Helix handguard shares the same high strength, and low weight characteristics as the AR-15 Helix. This handguard is built to work with high profile DPMS pattern .308 rifles. There are 4 locking blocks that interface with the barrel nut to keep the guard from rotating under recoil. This engineering is very important when you are dealing with the .308 recoil impulse. The free float design properties allow for barrel harmonics to to be as uninterrupted as possible. Mil-Spec 1913 rail sections allow for attachment of accessories like a front sight or offset mounts. Keymod slots allow for attachment of any accessories at the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions. The Keymod slots in the SLR guards are actually called "Q-MOD", these can be used as QD sling attachments. The use of Keymod cut outs ensures rock solid lockup, especially when fasteners are applied with thread lock. The overall lightweight characteristics of this product make shooting much less fatiguing.
